Meet Mr Toad; The Eunos
 This page last updated 1/10/00
OK then - what's a Eunos Roadster ? Well; It's a Mazda MX-5 - but you should hear what it's been mistaken for !
There's some debate as to the various differences between a European spec MX-5 and a Eunos; see "The Spares Debate"
My Eunos is a 1991 'V Special' BRG with all the following goodies (pictures at the bottom of the page);
- Tan leather interior
- Wooden steering wheel rim (Nardi)
- Wooden gear knob
- Wooden handbrake lever
- Electric windows
- Power steering
- Air conditioning (yes I know, but it came with it as standard - OK ?)
- CD player
- Headrest speakers
- Alloy wheels
- Rear wing spoiler (It was going to go, but it's grown on me)
- High (!) level stop light
- Custom 'V Special' mats
- Aluminium scuff plates on the door sills
- Front fog lamps
- The nifty folding sun visors that only come with the early models
- And of course, the 1.6L 116 bhp engine that Mazda replaced with a puny 80-odd bhp engine when they brought out the 1.8L
He's had the following added since he came to our shores;
- Rear fog lamp
- Dials with white faces and green numerals (and MPH instead of KMH !)
And I've added;
- Factory rear fog lamp switch (an extortionate price from Mazda)
- Tan rear window protector from Performance Buyers Club
- Remote Boot Release (also from PBC)
- Boot light (guess where from)
- Flash to pass modification (headlamps pop up when the lights are flashed)
- None of the last three are standard features on early models. Doh !
- A new differential ! See 'Tales of Woe'
- Stick-on front number plate
- A tan boot cover to replace the 'original' (that's wrong) black one
- CRI Air Horns (nice 'n loud)
- Racing Beat / K&N Filtercharger - conical air filter to replace the stock air box. I now get a nice growl at WOT (Wide Open Throttle). Photo to follow soon.
- New ! His own personalised number plate; H5 BRG
So what does he look like in the flesh ? Well since the purchase of my sexy new digital camera, here he is in glorious Fujicolour.. New photos to show the new reg.
